Teaching Style and Philosophy

I had an incredible experience studying with Sarah Bell and Paula Lynch in the YogaWorks 200 hr Teacher Training program.  I continue to expand my knowledge through ongoing workshops, including Post and Prenatal training classes.

My goal is for students to feel a balanced sense of accomplishment and ease at the culmination of their practice.  So many of us take uncontrollable circumstances too seriously both on and off our mats, so I hope laughter and acceptance about where you’re at physically, emotionally, and mentally, are a part of your experience.

I teach beginner to intermediate levels of Vinyasa Yoga, linking breath with movement.  The biggest myth I hear from non-practitioners is that they are too inflexible for yoga--all the more reason to make it to your mats, my dears!   Who cares if you can't touch your toes?!  My favorite aspect of teaching is observing clients’ significant improvement in strength and flexibility after only two-three sessions.

If you are brand new to practicing, I highly recommend trying four-five private sessions before deciding it is something you do or don't wish to continue.  Learning proper alignment as you move through a safe yet challenging practice, customized to your specific needs, is my primary focus for you.
